VPI can have him. I bought a snake from him once... I'll never do that again.

As sad as it is to say I would pay on credit cards... Then hide them from the wife and instead of making the payments to the credit card company I would be buying stuff for the collection...

If I had 10k I'd spend 2k and invest the rest. Now the 2k would go to new racks and maybe an axanthic female.

If i had 10 grand assuming i left this cold area I would no doubt get a high white pair Pieds, already have a 100% het But i want a pair, the rest of the money would go to a perfect enclosure as im less into money making than the love of the animal, to me pieds are breath taking especially very high white pieds, and i would give them the best home i could =p, and if i had extra i would get a couple pastels cinnies and or a spider pair

I guess if I did spend it on ball pythons I'd grab up as many multiple codoms as possible and breed them all together so many times I no longer have any clue as to what each baby has in it ;)

I bought an adult Bel, 800 gram paradox Bee, 750 gram lesser pastel, four RBI racks, thermostats, incubator, scale, tong, hides, water bowls, and a few other tid bits.

BTW, some people on here should understand that since this is 10k in the BP morph section, that the 10k has to go towards animals and supplies, not anything else;)

A pair of Toffee hets (and a goat as an offering to the odds gods).

If you're more of a high risk/high reward guy, I'd go with a newer co-dom project...champagne stuff, desert stuff, etc. The risky part is that if you don't do well breeding them from the start, you'll be way behind everyone else and you probably won't capitalize on getting in early.

If more moderate...a group of double co-dom males and lots of single morph co-dom females. Don't just buy up one of everything...think ahead if you go this route. Try to make your females stuff that can make supers (spiders/pinstripes and het white snakes are kinda dead end) and get males with as many genes as possible.

If you want to be conservative and take the long term approach, pick your favorite recessive morph and buy females (several) and a couple of double co-dom males to breed into that recessive. That'll give you lots of co-dom babies that are het for the recessive you chose. Lots of options to produce various hets.

I think the most important thing isn't to buy one of everything and have no idea how you'll pair them up...be realistic and think a couple generations ahead.

Another point...before you pay double for a 300 gram snake or quadruple for a 1,000 gram female, look at the price of babies and rodents. And remember that ball pythons can go off feed when they're shipped. I say spend the money on well started (100+ gram) babies and avoid paying out the wazoo for females that aren't already breeding size. Proven males, on the other hand, can be picked up cheap and are totally worth the money if you're just getting started...I've bought males that sired clutches for me before they actually ate. lol
