Wouldn't know that by the pure white snake pictured on the cover of Reptiles magazine.

I tried to explain that I'm not saying this snake is imperfect or undesirable, that is just not how the "posterchild" examples of this morph (BlackEL) is made out/has been made out to be.
As more and more people do fire x fire and BlackEl x fire they are finding that the "quality" or amount of whiteness is variable.
You may be right about that. But if that is the case I personally would consider that a marketing blunder. When there is already a half a dozen ways of making a white snake, why wouldn't you celebrate the variability of the yellow blotching and be charging a premium for increased amounts of it? Pure white snakes are becoming more and more common all the time, whereas this snake that Dave just produced I would consider to be a rare and desirable animal.
I've already got a number of females picked out that tend to throw darker or higher orange babies that I can't wait to breed my sulfur to next year.

Yeah, I kind of agree with Mark. You can make a Lucy with probably half a dozen or more snakes, all being a bit different, why not embrace a snake that is not textbook and totally white. I will probably want a clean Lucy one day too, would make for a nice comparison tank at a show.

Nixer, you have any better pics of your Lucy? Does yours have the purple speckles?
