Re: Missed th fedex package!
What this all boils down to is that the Fedex drivers dont want to take the time to wait for you to come answer the door and sign for the package. If they skip all of this for half the packages they have to deliver, they can save an hour total of the day.
Now not all drivers are this way...only the ones that care about themselves only. The driver that comes to my door seems like she's scared to know what's in the box, but she does know it's a live animal and nearly beats my door off the hinges to make sure I come quickly get it out of her hair.
I have literally sat at a window and watched a ups driver pull up, run to the door with no package in hand and stick a "sorry we missed you" note on the door. This was because it was close to the end of his day and he probably had several packages left.
I know we all like to get home on time, but leaving live animals unattended at a door is unacceptable

Know the feeling, had a driver not even come to my house... lied about leaving a tag on the inside of my front screen door... which you can't, because it is always locked. So I knew he was lying.... ended up meeting him just 2 minutes drive from my house.... within walking distance.
He'd just marked my address as "me not being there at all" to receive the package to save his own a$$ which in turn saves the shipping company a refund on failure to deliver next day on time.
Re: Missed th fedex package!
I personally have seen both FedEx and UPS literally just toss a package about 10 feet to my porch. Neither one have ever asked for a signature even on things where it is required. Maybe the ones in my area are just really bad. Luckily so far none of those were live animals.
As for all of you saying that you would just be late for work, or not go in, or have it delivered to your work, keep in mind not everyone has jobs like you do. Some companies are more strict than others. If you lose your job over a delivery, it makes buying food for your animals a bit tough. Catch 22.
