Ask the vet to do a culture and put her on another course.
Also, I wanted to let you know about your injection-giving.. When you insert the needle into the muscle, you need to go slow and not just JAB-INJECT. If you put Fortaz into the vein, you could hurt your snake.
You just need to hold the part of the snake that is getting the injection, with one hand wrapped entirely around that part of the body. Restraining her head will just make her even more nervous. With your hand wrapped around the snake's first 1/3, pull the skin tight and insert the needle in between the scales, about 1/4-1/2" away from the spine. When you insert the needle, make sure the bevel is up(the spoon part of the needle. It inserts quicker and less painfully this way. When you have inserted the needle, pull back on the plunger to ensure you have not hit a vein. Then slowly inject the medication.
After you have injected the medication, put your finger over the injected area and hold it there so the medication doesn't ooze out. You lose a good portion of the antibiotic when you don't put your finger over the injection site. Press down and rub that area so the meds are distributed into the muscle and are less apt to ooze out of the injection site.
Always pull back on the plunger before giving an injection. Giving medications into a vein when they aren't meant to go IV, can cause alot of damage, and even death.
Yeah, Thank you for that advice! It actually is really helpful.

Well, your username is quite ambiguous. No one is really ever sure about anyone unless there is some formal name or gender displayed. ;)
Even then, this is the internet. Anonymity rules.

****Update****
Hey guys,
I know I haven't been on bp.net for a while, but I have been so busy. Ok, I took Ali back to the vet for a culture and some more antibiotics yesterday, They did the culture, and I will get the results in two days, My total vet bill was $200!:O:O:O So I get home to get Ali started on her first shot of antibiotics, and sadly, there was no medicine in it. So I have to go back to the vet again today which is another 45 minutes away from my house. RRRRRRRGH! So yeah, thats my life. I will keep in touch and let you know th results of the culture. Thanks.
Re: aLI HAS A MAJOR RI! PLEASE HELP Hurry hurry hurry!
Anyone stoked she will be ok?
Re: aLI HAS A MAJOR RI! PLEASE HELP Hurry hurry hurry!
Natch!
Glad to hear your going to get the meds even if it does cost you a double drive. :gj:
How would the vet react if the culture came back resistant to the anti-biotics he gave you? I always assumed they didn't give anything till they got the results back.
Then again you know the story of me and umption.

Yeah I don't know, these are the antibiotics that I had for Bali and they worked great. So maybe I will get the same results, hopefully. I always think positive and things usually work out. I know they will. She will get healthy soon. :P
Re: aLI HAS A MAJOR RI! PLEASE HELP Hurry hurry hurry!
well others have said it but ill say it again, for a 14 year old you seem pretty darn responsible! most teenagers i knew (or even me when i was that age) wouldnt have even known anything was wrong until the snake would have died from it. awesome that you actually know how to care for your snakes and uphold the extreme responsibility. you get a high five. hope she gets even better!!!:gj:
