really? hmmm... i would think playing devil's advocate is more about bringing light to the other side of the situation so we all begin to ponder the merits of it.

I know you have good intentions to further the discussion, however I don't think there is ANY leverage in your arguments as "devil's advocate". The main reason is b/c on one hand someone has complete indifference to the snakes in the hands of someone who sees them purely as "property", and on the other you have people who not only respect all life in general, but people who strive their hardest to provide able/healthy homes to animals full of TLC. It's an apples to oranges comparison.

This is a situation that PETA/SPCA should be involved in due to the apparent cruelty of the living standards and obvious neglect.

Whats the difference with this guy and the vendors at reptile shows that have huge tanks full of "feeders" and "non feeders" all squished, stressed out, and still selling? why dont we say anything to those people?? I gotta say, that there are two sides to every story.

I'd say the difference is that one is a temporary situation while the other may be a permanent housing. At expos, it isn't realistic to bring 40 BPs and 40 cages, whereas at home, this "breeder" can have the setups established. ;)

Oh trust me, I will never try to bring any discussions on ethics to the table ever again. This is apparently not the place to even being talking about how those snakes get over here...

It's so taboo here, and everyone tends to get very... "into" making their opinion the only "right way". I have nothing more to say here on out. Promise. -peace

No, it's just that we care about the livelyhood (sp?) of the snakes and we all think giving sub-par care to these creatures is wrong. It's not all about money in this business.

well it's your choice. no one attacked you for your opinions... but honestly you are asking people who do care about each and every snake they have to embrace the idea that it's somehow okay to house snakes like this just to make some money.

perhaps if you go to a forum where money is the motivator instead of quality of life... your discussion would be better embraced.
