When you work with these animals in extremely large numbers you see a lot more than the average keeper as far as the spectrum of what is and isn't possible as well as what is and isn't likely ... Even when I had only 50 ball pythons, and had a ton less experience than I do now that I have hundreds ... and not even near the experience of friends of mine that have thousands.

A little off topic but Adam how long does it actually take on feeding day to feed your entire collection?

about 5 or 6 hours every Monday ... and sometimes a couple hours Tuesday morning ... depends on the time of year ... more babies in the summer make for some very long feeding days ... and in the winter, with all of the males and females paired up I get to skip a lot.

If I'm really moving I can bang it out a lot faster, but I usually save the "high energy" for cleaning tues-thurs. :D :carrot:

Thanks for all the tips and helpful info! I'll be cleaning the gashes twice a day till they are fully healed.

Thank you for showing the picture...My pastel got nip'd on his neck in about the same spot as yours...but it didn't get as deep and after 1 shed you can almost barely notice it...

"you've been warned more than enough that feeding live can hurt your snake"

Really now who left me that -neg rep point? Fess up!
Can't really be someone that knows me all that well since the people that do know me, know that I feed f/t to the ones that will take f/t and well live to the ones who don't.... I guess everyone else here who has and does feed live should be getting neg points too? One of the many reasons why I love this community, people don't really jump down your throat about how you feed.

I do feed pre killed to those who will take pre killed. As others have said, this can happen and that maybe feeding her a medium sized rat wasn't the best idea. I will try a pre killed one next time just to see if she will take it since she is a great eater. If she does great, if not then I'll just give her small rats.

Well heck then I guess I best get some neg points too for all the live rats we feed off here weekly and I can't imagine the neg points for the 100's that Adam feeds without incident. (why am I hearing that stupid line from that stupid movie..."bring it on....it's broughtened!" arrrrrgh)
