You guys are missing the point. It's not about paying a whole lot of money for something that's worth that much. But paying for something that is not worth that much is just insane in my opinion.

That's why you test it before you give it to "Santa" to put under the tree. ;)

It's going to be more than a month or two. Probably more like 8 months. Look at the 360. It came out around this time last year, and it was July before you actually saw any on store shelves.

I think "defective" would imply that they system won't work at all. bear in mind, these systems are hard core tested before being released, so they won't be "defective", but rather "buggy"...Most of the bugs now are fixed by downloading patches from Sony. and if it is defective, i'm sure Sony has warranties to ensure you get a working product.

Not to contradict myself in this thread, i just want to clarify that i'm listening to the radio and learning all this as the day goes on.

Well, I make a comfortable enough living that I have $5,000.00 of disposible income to spend on a toy for my kid ... I may not be smart, but I'm living a pretty good life. :sweeet: :carrot:

Don't I know it! We got my son a computer for Christmas two years ago, and I checked to make sure everything was there before we wrapped it. When I was setting it up after he opened it, I couldn't find the power cord for the monitor. My heart dropped, and I said "I think were missing the power cord". My son looked at me and said, "It has to be there, Santa wouldn't forget something like that!" I looked again and found it wrapped up in the plastic bag I discarded, much to my relief.

That's not my point but I know what you're saying.

Well, ErikH, I said a month or two because they're supposed to be sending another shipment in December. A million consoles I believe. I've been looking at the shipping dates where I work. But that's where my information comes from. I plan on getting PS3...just not at $5,000.00 :(

i read it correctly the first time! i didn't say you said 600,000 either.:D

the point i was making was that it costs 600 dollars not 600,000. i know i've wasted/blown away more than 600 with nothing to show for it before. it's 600 clams, not your life savings or retirement fund. it's life, enjoy it as you will.
