I've had people want to start fist fights with me over comments I've made relating to a joke. I tell 'em you REALLY think I'd do that stuff? God people are dumb.

I hear ya. But I have no limits. Mostly 'cause I just love the shock factor. I've had many of a bad childhood incidents so I think laughing at it, for me makes it so I'm laughing at the people who have caused some sort of years past scars.

I know that the people that have hurt me, have a problem, and are emotionally and mentally sick. I have a concious like you wouldnt believe. If I find 5.00 and know whos it is, I'll give it to em. I dont believe in hurting someone. No matter how little the it is. I love making people laugh, bringing up normal life situtations and how funny they are. If I say something thats touchy to someone, then I'll apologize and curb off the subject.

I swore by Pantene for years, but now I basically change shampoos often; staying with one thing too long makes me get an irritated scalp for some reason; without fail. I probably just haven't found the right one yet.. Currently I am using Aussie stuff but I plan no splurging and buying some Nexxus.
I use Clairol coloring products; I am way, way past overdue to dye; I prefer my hair to be a burgundy/dark red, not this weird shade of orangish-brown-who-knows. I always wash my hair at night, sleep on it (well, arrange it specifically around my pillow) and it's dry and fresh by morning; but in hot weather I just shower in the AM.
My honey has long hair too; I'd venture to say it approaches my hair's length, but his curls when dry (think Tom Araya of Slayer, a tad less poofy though.) So you can bet the tub/shower drains are always clogged in this household! Not to mention the dryer lint trapper thingie. We just got a brand new washer/dryer (LG, I'd highly recommend them) and already there's hair caught everywhere in it.. lol. There is nothing better to me than the smell of his hair. :)
I use Goodie brushes; nothing fancy, but No combs or picks; just a cushy brush. I go through them like candy because the bristly part breaks off in my hair.
My hair is pretty thick, likes to stay mainly straight and holds shape too good; I get "ponytail head" easily! I am ALLways twirling it in my fingers/hand too, sometimes tying complicated knots that only I can undo!

A piccy; not too sure what color you'd call it.
I am really open to suggestions that any of you may have as to getting rid of split ends, good products, etc.

    Gin,

A friend of mine was a chaperone for Miss Rodeo Idaho for a few years. She recommended an all-natural boar bristle brush. It's less damaging to the hair strand and less likely to cause the split ends. My beautician who specialized in long hair recommended regular "light" trims to catch the SEs at the bottom, and to stay away from the thin, non-coated bands for ponytails, braids. The thin, uncoated kind increase the breakage. Also, DON'T brush it wet, use your fingers to get the snarls out, or a very large, open-toothed comb, starting at the bottom and being VERY gentle, in order to prevent stretching the hair shaft and causing breakage.

Right now I'm using Pantene conditioner and Suave shampoo, but I used to swear by the Aussie Mega products. I just haven't used them since they went public instead of professional. Even with the Pantene, I still need to use Johnson's Detangler otherwise I can't get the comb thru w/the perm. I PREFER the higher end products for quality, but haven't been able to afford them for a while.

My hair is normally VERY straight. No curl at all. It's a dark brown, medium texture but VERY, VERY thick (and heavy). After about nine months, it's past my shoulder blades and still has some of the curl (when wet) from the last perm I got. B/c of work, I'm thinking of cutting it and donating it (yeah, I know...don't stone me ;) ) just b/c I'm tired of the hour long drying time, AAAAND the fact that when I wear an SCBA for work, I end up tearing out handfuls (painful!) in the buckles of the mask. I may keep it long longer, and then just have it thinned. I don't have anyone "special" to enjoy the long hair(except me) and I'm bored w/it right now, too.

It once was naturally curly enough to make large ringlets w/nothing but a finger, but when I was 5 I had it cut. Summers w/long hair usu. mean migraines and nosebleeds, due to its weight and being so thick. I don't know how to French braid, so most days I wear it w/barrettes, or in a ponytail or bun. I can't wear the banana clips or sticks to work in the cleanroom due to the threat of pucturing a hole in the snood. :(

Thanks for the advice! I plan on getting one of those bristle brushes; many people have recommended them to me. As for dry-time, I wash my hair at night, go to bed with it strategically arranged, and brush it in the morning. I have been using that Nexxus conditioner; I find I can use the cheaper shampoos with it and then use it to finish off. I am absolutely nuts about the fragrance it has.
