I bought three pairs of identical military style high end boots, (the price was incredible). And two pairs got worn rarely, in the back of the closet mostly for around two maybe three years. The same exact thing happened to those pairs when I went to start using the more frequent. The shoe repair man told me it’s not uncommon. He couldn’t fix them without some major cost.

Ouch! Not all soles do that either, but the ones that do- :fight: Like you, I also was told that the "worst thing you can do is keep shoes in storage"! NOW ya tell us?
