I'm trusting you all and just ordered (4) bags of this stuff. It seems a bit pricey at almost $85 for the (4) bags so I hope it's as good as everyone says. ;)

Ziggy - I switched to RP from cypress mulch when I got my AP enclosures and couldn't be happier. It holds humidity great - doesn't turn to mud - easy to spot clean (SUPER absorbent with pee) - and the snakes burrow in it.

Side note - I notice the price on Amazon is the same they offered thru their website - was 15.99 a bag plus 4.00 shipping - so no change there.

    Hope it works for you.

Thanks for the reassurance y'all. I'm looking forward to the switch. So is it reasonable to say that 1 bag is enough substrate for (2) AP 4x2 enclosures?

Anybody have any problems feeding on it, especially with wet f/t rodents? I feel like because it's finer compared to reptichip, it would stick to the rodents more.

nope, never had a problem with that. My rodents aren't sopping wet, though.

Hm, I dunno...that depends on how thick you want it.

But it may be stretching it.

The good thing is, you rarely (if ever) have to replace the whole thing if you spot clean thoroughly. And don't have a extremely messy snake.

I agree Zina. I haven't had to do a full clean yet. Love this stuff. A little goes a long way. I'm still on my first herptopia bag from last year.

I just got my first bag in the mail. So far I really like it. However I think I need at least ten bags. If I want to do most of my collection. I see myself going broke buying this stuff. However if it works, as well as everyone says it does. I may have to bite the bullet.
