If it feels warm to you, it's probably too warm for your snake. I only put my snakes in water when they have made a huge mess of themselves (sadly, this is kind of often) and only just long enough to clean them off and put them back in their tub. I always test the water first with my hand.
If your snake Poocasso's himself it's less stressful on him if you use unscented baby wipes to clean him up. I've found the cheap generic ones work better since they are thicker. Any soap residue can then be wiped away with a damp paper towel.
