Nope, never been asked that. I'm a helluva lot more scared of my horse than I have been of any snake. lol

New skin coming off with the old
I was asked another one today. Not the first time I've heard it either.

Ok so I was telling them how the anaconda had her babies there at the zoo, and the guy asks if snakes have their babies through their mouth.

Oh yes, all the time. I always say to them 'you have a question?' when they raise their hand. Then when they're like 'you know what..' I'm like oh no.. lol

At my job I do a lot of educational shows, and I give tours through the reptile zoo, so I get a lot of kids who TALK.. and TALK.. or the kind that has question after question after..
Ohh i know how that goes, i help do the educational snake shows at the zoo and all these little kids ask questions like ...."how does it stick its tounge out like that" im just like.......umm he just does.I know they are just little kids but thier dumb questions annoy the heck outta me.

My job is just to hold the snakes while she talks about them and explains, everyone sits in rows of chairs and i go through each row and let people touch the snake if they want, sometimes its a pain becuase even though we tell them to please not grab the snakes head or try to restrain it in any way you always get those little kids who are dead set on trying to hold it and spending ten minutes looking and touching it......gets on my nerves sometimes but its not to bad :)

Urgh.. reminds me of this one guy.. this happened when I was still pretty new to my job. This guy.. he came up to the snake I was holding (a sweet little BCI) and he asks me if he could 'catch her'. I had no idea what he was talking about. I told him he could pet her, just not on her head. So he GRABS her face, and squeezes! Really hard! This poor snake's eyes were bulging out! I was afraid her skull was going to crack. It made me sick. The guy finally let her go and he was smiling, then he just walked off. I wanted to do something to that guy really bad.. he made me so mad.

    Swimming?
    That is really scary.....

I think i just might have to whoop some **booty** if they did that to one of those snakes..Even though they are not mine.......once you do a bunch of shows with the same snakes and go over and visit you start to get attached.Rubys mom is my favorite she is so sweet :)

Yeah Cody.. he was foreign, maybe he WAS at one time. hah. I'd understand (somewhat) if the guys doing this dumb stuff were 20 somethings (no offense to the sane ones out there) but I'm astounded at the number of 40-50 year old guys (and people in general) that are just STUPID.

    Uh. Right.

Either way, we are not mentally retarded like the unenlightened masses. We can in no way be compared to the idiocy of the above mentioned... specimens.

    It's late, don't mind me.
