I think the only really wildlife thing I've tried aside from Fish & Deer was alligator. I wouldn't try python sausage or bull testicles though. The thought honestly grosses me out. The alligator did taste like very good though.

    RobNJ,
How was the shark fin? I have caught shark but never did anything with the fin. How is it prepared?

I was also courious about the jellyfish. How was that prepared? Seems like it would just turn to goo.

Growing up my step-father was a very avid hunter. I have had steer tongue, pheasant, wild turkey, bear, deer, and duck. All of these taste very good if prepared properly.

I've tried jellyfish. Not a fan. The texture was too much for me. It was like stringy/noodley jello??? I'm not sure how to describe it.

I like Shark fin soup however. I understand the process of obtaining said fin, but I'm still not going to deny that it is tasty.

Durian IS AWESOME!!! Its so underrated and hated due to the smell. But it tastes really good. Love it. Grew up on it and I just bought one for my boyfriend to try. Try it semi frozen and its like ice cream. Mmmmmm
Glad to know someone else who doesn't think its horrible.

I totally forgot the above foods are considered exotic. They're such regular foods in my life.

What does Kangaroo taste like? I remember meeting someone at the airport who had kangaroo jerky and got stopped at customs. It sure sounded good though.

I've had durian. It smells terrible but tasted like sweet onions to me. Not my favorite, but not terrible either. I'd imagine if you could cook with it and somehow mask the smell then people wouldn't be so against it.

EDIT: is shark fin soup "bad" to eat because they kill the sharks just for the fins?...?

From my understanding, yes. Some sharks aren't even killed. Some are caught, their fins cut off, then dumped back into the water still alive.

I want to try shark, guinea pigs, rattlesnake, any snake for that matter. I would want to find an Asian culture that actually did eat dog, that way I could know it happens. I think orange dog might be tasty.

I also hear buffalo is fantastic. I need try some, I think there's a place down south of me actually...

Oh! I have had fried frog legs, delicious.

Buffalo is very good and healthier because it's lean. If I ever hit the lotto i'd buy a crap ton of land and raise them. I feel like there's a huge market for it with how the "healthy/organic" phase is hitting the US.

I'm not sure if they still do it due to modern animal activism, but Korea and China were big on dog farming. I know Vietnamese for sure eat dog regularly. They have specialized dog restaurants.

Awesome. Maybe some dog sushi would be weird.
