I would also like to note that I love the comment on the difference between what women find attractive in other women and what men find attractive in women. Its very true. Raptor I am 5"10 and 6"3 in low heels... and pretty curvy... I always admired smaller women feeling they were more "feminine" then I was and I felt like a clumsy giant, and it made me feel very masculine. So it does go both ways, I personally feel that I have grown in to myself and am pretty pleased with myself now if I may say so myself, but its like curly vs strait hair..its always greener on the other side and all that.

It really IS more about what's on the inside than anything else, but your preference can also change dramatically over time. Here's a little story for you all..

My entire life (I'm 35) id only been with really thin men. Through a couple dating phases and a couple long term relationships. I thought that's what I was attracted to and all I liked.. At some point I met a man who looked nothing like my "type". He quickly became my best friend and we talked every single day, multiple times a day. We still do 3 years later.

He's rather thick. I'm not sure I'd call him fat but he's definitely overweight and has gained weight since I've met him. Ok yeah he's a little On the fat side but i don't call anyone fat. No matter how big they are. He's by far the biggest man I've ever been attracted to, yet, I find him to be the most attractive and sexy man I've ever known. I think if things were different, and the timing had been different, we'd be together as a couple instead of just best friends.

I just don't see how this couldn't hold true with almost everyone wether they are a man or a woman. I believe anyone's taste can change drastically just by meeting or being involved with the right person.

It's all subjective. Nothing is set in stone. Media warps people's minds but people should not be so easily effected by it.

I admit I'm not happy with my body now that I've gained weight, (this has to do with an ex more than anything) but strangely I've met more people who are attracted to me now (and make it obvious) than when I was 30lbs lighter and much more attractive in my own eyes.. So I've learned I'm not the only one by far who prefers more body over more bony.. Lol!!

You get one shot at life and one trip on the merry-go-round of crazy that life can sometimes be. YOU get to decide how YOU'RE going to live YOUR life, no one else. You can let it be dictated to you by everyone around you and let the negativity rule your life or decide to go your own way and find what makes you happy. I dunno, just my two cents. Good luck and I hope you find some encouragement in the comments that have been posted in this thread; it's certainly been an interesting read getting everyone's take on things.
