Re: Nameology Thread
I name my pets after my favorite characters from shows, whichever ones their personality embodies the most.
My normal girl is named Raava- from Legend of Korra, she's the light spirit and very calm and serene, it fits her well.
My banana boy I named Mycroft from Sherlock; he has an intelligent air about him and is always curious.
I also have a hedgehog named Zuko :P from Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra. Fiesty temper, sweetheart at the core though. Plus, he only has one eye ;)

Mine only get names if they show some sort of personality trait, or do something distinctive.
I have Bracelet, a normal female ball who managed to tie up both my daughter's hands one day while she was being held.
Then there's Alucard, the blood python. From one of my favorite animes, and what better to name a blood python than after a vampire?
Next there's Creeper, my black roughneck monitor, so named because my wife and daughter's first words on seeing her for the first time were "That thing's creepy".
I have a pair of beardies named Sunny and Cher, and cher only got that name because we already had Sunny when we got her.
Homer, the male bumblebee ball, who is a lovable idiot, just like Homer Simpson.
My latest addition, Nibbles the female albino burm, which may get renamed later but has that one for now due to biting the crap out of me while checking her out at the show.
Then there's the fur pets, like Servo the chihuahua, named for a part from my radio control hobby, Goblin the rott, named both for the mythical creature and for the fact that he did a lot of gobblin' at the food dish. Oddball the jack russel, named for the pup in the 101 dalmations live action version. Tenchi, our cat, another anime reference. And so on and so on, lol.

Mine don't have anything to do with eachother heh :P
0.1 "Jackie" Carolina Dog - Named after Jack Daniels
1.0 "Dewey" Cinnamon Lesser BP - Named after my favorite hockey player, Drew Doughty cuz he has the number 8 on his side
0.1 "Nessie" Pastel BP - She's huge and is always periscoping so my friend suggested we name her after the Loch Ness monster

Re: Nameology Thread
Normal BP - Orpheus, the God of song and poetry, also the Orphic religion believes we are immortal and constantly being reborn, like snakes shedding.
Bumblebee BP- Otto, because I'm a Sylvia Plath nut, and her father was a bee expert. If the snake had been female, it would have been Sylvia.
Anery corn- Zmija, Croation for snake, because we have no idea on sex for it, though we call it him.
Hog- Spot, because his cloaca is a huge bright spot. My fiance is a sick man.
Red Tail Boa- Ruska, Finnish for colors of autumn.
:snake:

I like naming things and animals after cute/silly-sounding food, or references to mythological/historical beings
Examples:
1.0 Cat, named Boba (as in tapioca used in Taiwanese drinks - or Boba Fett )
0.1 Motorcycle, named Komodia (Greek Goddess of Amusement)
0.1? Fish, named Cleo (Cleopatra, who is said to have worn Python Regius funnily enough)
1.0 Dog, named Theo (Theophilus, biblical character)
I've got no idea what to name my snake when he or she comes about. Food, or legendary being? :P
