Thanks for being there for me!

I don't know how to "ping" everybody who helped me get through this so I've been trying to thank everyone who finds the thread again.

In case I missed anybody, there is NO WAY I can *ever* express my gratitude for your support, prayers, vibes and shoulders to cry on.

I would not have gotten through this ordeal without y'all.

I somehow just saw this, but I'm so happy that he finally came home! I'll admit it, I kind of teared up reading your post. What a happy ending! And some pretty hilarious visuals too :D

    Congrats!

    This is his new penitentiary:

Haven't decided what to do the outside yet.

Maybe some Trompe L'Oeil stone walls and a "Jail" sign?

    :D

I have to ask hon, how secure are those sliding locks ?

I've seen them, but I am not sure how ideal they are for snakes. I think I'd use at least two. I wouldn't put anything past that boy!

And maybe hasps at each end where the glass and frame meet. I'd be so paranoid he'd get out again.

Such great news! And now you know there's no such thing as "hopeless!"

Happy reunion to you and Alice.

    Really
I am so happy for you!!! I know EXACTLY how you feel since I've been where you are (with a tiny blue phase green iguana last year who was missing OUTSIDE for TWO WEEKS!)

I am so happy that he is home safe and sound!

Much better than his previous 'cam locks' which had the locking catch inside the tank.
If the key was in the lock, the catch could be turned.
    [which he figured out]

    This lock has nothing inside.
It's screwed to one sliding pane and restrains the other.

Even if it's accidentally left unlocked, he'd have to figure out how to slide both panes in opposite directions, at once.

No need to worry about the ends.

The front panes slide 2 inches into "pockets" created by the double framed front.

[the panes are mounted inside 'tracks']

There's 2 inches of 1/2" acrylic pane on each end that you can't see because it's inside the 'pocket' created by the frames.

Out of several versions, this 'lock up' was the most secure idea we had.

[and yes, we took his uncanny 'talents' into account]

    :)
