You are not translating that line well. Assuming you are trying to make all the various parts of the bible fit together its pretty clear you should cut your hair but not your beard.

    Ezekiel 44:20
They shall not shave their heads or let their locks grow long; they shall surely trim the hair of their heads.

    Leviticus 19:27
You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard. (this is about side burns and beards)

    1 Corinthians 11:14
Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him,

Yep the Bible sure is chock-full of contradictions.

That's a bit of a oxymoron. I think atheist are more open minded then most. Do we say there is no god,( sort of) but we say show me proof. And no that fairy tale book is not proof, if there was any concrete proof no one would be quoting a 1600 year old book of dessert scribblings. Trust me if snakes started talking to me, and I saw 500 year old old man building an ark I would start praising Jesus. But until that day I don't need to hear people quoting bible verses at me, in my opinion you may as well be quoting jack and the bean stalk, that isn't the biggest reach.

That's more of an agnostic approach, it's the one I prefer. Could there be a God? Yes. Could there not be a God? Yes. I go with the 'I don't know and neither do you, so lets stop pretending' path.

I would like to quote from Amphibians 4:26 "And every body got the right to be free. You don't have to live like a refugee."

I'm not going to have a religious debate about "fairy tales" or anything else on this thread, if you like we can start a debate on a different thread. But what I meant by my post had nothing to do with any creed. Sho220 posted that half of a religious management team went home and either beat their wives or molested. I strongly feel that making false accusations of anyone especially of such heinous offenses is very wrong. Rape is not a joke and that's what I meant by my post. Not that any one belief is close minded. But to falsely accuse someone because of their belief is very close minded.

Yes but don't forget it also says "you take it on faith, you take it to the heart, the waiting is the hardest part."

I thought this was about the OP and his hair, and how his Dad forced him to cut it and change a part of himself (that wasn't doing any harm) using an event that was important against him...

    Not the bible.

There's a distinct correlation between the length of a thread and the probability that religion or Nazis/Hitler will be brought up. In the case of the latter, Godwin's Law is immediately enacted.
