    My husband always freaks and asks if my girls are going to choke me if I put one of my girls around my neck. He tolerates my snakes and supports my keeping them so long as I don't bring them withing 3 feet of him while they are out. If they are in their bins hes totally cool with them.

    I used to do public educational programs at a zoo and the question I got more than "isn't it going to" was "WHY isn't it biting you?".

    Usually a friend of mine was helping transport animals, so over time I adopted the canned reply: "Why am I not over there punching him in the head? I have no reason to hurt him, and this snake has no reason to hurt me. If he attacked me, I would fight back, and if this snake felt like I was attacking it, it would fight back then too."
