wow i got really pissed to hear that they just tore the glue trap off, even after i'm sure they saw they were injuring the snake as they were doing so but continued to do it. god i just keep picturing them doing it like it was a bandaid, quick to prevent more pain but not thinking of the pain he's gonna have to endure having treatments on that wound. jesus i just wanna stick glue traps all over whoever did that & rip them off them, show them how that crap hurts. :rage:
    ok i'm done venting,
    here's some more tips,
    1) do not handle him right after feeding & during the 2 days directly following the meal. that'll just increase your chances of him regurging especially if he's already stressed.
also, snakes dont really get energy from food per say...food actually slows them down cuz they cant move too quick with a full belly.

    2) give him at least 2 indentical hides...one at each end of the cage so he can go from warm to cool when he wants to & be able to hide at both sides.
the reason for identical hides is so he doesnt get the option to sacrifice any needed heat for security which these balls will typically do.

elmer is definitely a good name for him.
please keep us updated on how he's doing.

yea i have saved a snake off a Glue trap really simple actually all you need is some baby oil and you wont hurt the snake. really sad these people didn't think before they hurt it.

now that the little guy has had his meal im sure he will be fine.

Update time. It's a she. She has ate every time I have offered for the last month. Her side is almost completely healed. Scales are growing back only a thin strip of pink left. She shed last night and it came off in one piece and she did it by herself. I will post pics later tonight because she just ate. Also she is alert and moving around her tub a lot.

This makes me want to scream!
I wish you'd have mentioned which vet or vet hospital did that, because I'd like to write them a letter and give them a piece of my mind!

That said, I'm SO happy the snake is doing better. Any new pics? The latest one you posted still makes me want to cry :(
