never been called a devil worshipper but i DID have a lady call CPS on me for letting my daughter18 months at the time) hold my male ball in the courtyard area of my apartment complex. she told me i was a terrible parent and she was calling CPS. i encouraged her to do so. CPS was less than impressed with the lady and they told me to carry on.

i'm the same way in some regards. i refuse to believe life could spontaneously generate at random when we're actually TRYING to recreate it and cannot. humans can create jet airplanes and large hadron colliders, randomness does not.. much less a conscious, organic, reproducing machine such as the human. give me physical, testable proof and i'll believe. :P lol but to each their own.

on a side note, i love being a christian and keeping snakes. it allows me to be a light for both sides: christians with shallow minds who believe all snakes are evil, and snake keepers with shallow minds who believe all christians are ignorant.

Have you ever been called a "devil worshiper"?
Haha everyone at my church thinks its cool that I keep snakes. I've never heard anything negative come from it.

i have also had the joy of being called a devil worshipper!!! and like you, i could not stop laughing for quite awhile! i'm a fairly religious person, but as far as i'm concerned, god make all creatures and loves all creatures. it blows me away when people say things like this and freak out about feeding my snakes mice because thats the cycle of life. everything in the world consumes something, plant or animal and thats just how things are. some people are just very put off by our love of snakes but we wont let that bother us!!!!

Not in about 20 years. One of my best friends had a girlfriend whos mom was one of those crazy ones. She hated seeing me and my friend show up to pick up her daughter. She even said that she was surprised i was still alive and not killed by that evil creature. Didn't help that I was always wearing a black denim jacket, had hair down to my shoulders, and that classic scraggly highschool beard. The snake was actually my friends, but we told the girls mom it was mine. I did end up with the snake eventually.

Haha! No, never heard that one...of course, Steve's a new addition to the pets in my family's life.

Actually, when I told the other ladies in the building I'd be getting a ball python, most of them were surprisingly calm about it(some were actually asking to name him or see him).
Besides, there's a Christian sect called the serpent handlers, based on the 'they shall take up snakes' passage in the bible...they believe that God will protect them from the venom of dangerous herps.

God created ALL the animals=God made snakes.

Yet people say that snakes are "the devil's animals". So, are they calling God the devil? Because that's pretty blasphemous...

I'm a "casual Christian", I believe in God/a higher power, but I also accept proven facts. Like, I just can't argue with evolution; there's evidence of it EVERYWHERE. And nobody's proven that God/a higher power DOESN'T exist either. As far as I'm concerned, if you're religious, that great; if you're not, that's cool too. I'll judge you based on YOU, not what you believe in. Just don't try to shove your beliefs down my throat, and I'll return the courtesy.

If a snake is evil, then so are hogs. Jesus cast out demons from a man and let them posses a (herd?) of wild pigs that were nearby. Does that make all hogs evil? No. Just like the devil taking the form of a serpent in the garden of eden should not condemn all snakes.

I just don't see why they would call me a devil worshiper.
