Re: what do you feed your ball pythons?
Purina snake chow, And sometimes I'll give her half of my tuna melt.

Mice, hoppers right now but people tell me I should upgrade to adults. I couldn't resist the other option.

I have not seen an asf in a pet store by me either. Are they also called hamsters? Hamsters I have seen & bred as a kid. Do ASF's have a long or short tails?

I've been feeding live large adult mice weekly to my female who is now about 430 grams. I have not found live weaned or small rats & she is going to need something larger soon. I prefer not to feed 2 mice a week as it will get expensive at $3 a pop and I am looking at getting more snakes.

    Hi,

No, they are a different species.

Have a look in the ASF section for pics of the cute little beggars. :gj:

Looks like they are 100% rat along with the long tail. Anyone looking for any asf's I found a site that you may find helpful.

I personally would not feed my snakes them unless that is all they ate. I would have to breed them in order to keep up with demand.

I actually use mice hoppers right now for my baby ball pythons because they are just the right size for them to take down no problem, and they are live since for the first few times I tried to feed them they wouldnt take frozen. In the near future, or at least as they grow up I am going to try and wheen them off of live and switch over to f/t. My big boy however eats rat pups and he was frozen live food since he was born from the breeder I got him from. But within about 2 weeks I got him to eat frozen and thats all he usually has unless I have extra hoppers from the baby BPs not eating he takes them down without question. So my plan is to hopefully wheen the babies over just as easily as my big guy and it will make my life and theirs a lot more convenient. :gj::D

    ASFRs.

I feed them because they get problem feeders eating, are easy to breed, easy to make money off of, and are over-all better than mice and rats, and gerbils, because they don't stink.

I feed my 2 snakes live mice. Sometimes a rat pup because they are more nutritious.

I have always feed live. F/T is boring to me. I have no interest in feeding F/T.
