My baby is kinda strange on that issue (I think). She'll actually ONLY eat if I'm in the room. I've sat there to make sure she kills it without incident (she won't eat prekilled) and then I'll leave and come back and she won't have touched it. But as soon as I sit down she goes at it.

I got a couple bp's two or three weeks ago, Freya and Nintendo. They're both about 6 months old and Freya hasn't given any issues with the feeding but Nintendos been giving us some trouble. We've been trying frozen/thawed and Freya jumps on em within minutes but Nintendo does his best to avoid em. We've been using a smaller tank for feeding that we cover with a towel during feeding time. Any suggestions?

Mine has refused all winter. (Since Nov.) She did this last year as well. The hunger strike is ending this week though b/c she has made attempts the past two nights.(She's a lousy predator.) Third times a charm...

Our hatchlings and subadutls are still feeding weekly; however, of my BPs that are breeding, males and females alike, probably 80% are now off feed.

Just like Hypnotic Exotic mentioned is happening in Houston, we are experiencing weird weather this winter here in Central Florida. The fronts are acting differently, extended cold weather, etc. whcih I think is affecting breeding for me.

Well, out of 4 BPs my two females are still the biggest pigs alive and my males have been off food since Nov. (but the pastel male has done it before, so no worries). All corns are eating. :)

Yes, feed it appropriate size :P

I started my hatchling babies on larger than pinkies, pinkies are too small for any ball python IMO :)

It's pretty common for a ball python to kill a prey item that's too small, and then not eat it.

my ball python is still feeding, though I expect him to begin refusing any time now. He has always fasted in late winter and I expect nothing different this year.

Finally got my BP to eat today, first time in over a month. I used to take her out of her cage to feed, and now she just moves around in the other feeding enclosure and trys to get out. So i put the mouse in her cage, looked in just now and its gone... Also she just shed like yesterday so I figured maybe she would be hungry from going through it. For some reason it was a bad shed. Maybe cause shes not healthy ATM? I had humidity pretty high during the shed, but it left flakes all over...

I hope she actually ate and didnt just move the mouse :D i didnt look to well. I couldnt see it though..
