You have the option to place certain members on "Ignore" as well. If you go to their profile page click on "user list" under their name and hit "add to ignore". You will never see a post from those folks. Some people have been rough on you in this thread, but not everyone will treat you that way.
You do have the option, as Nate said to not log in if you wish.

all in all, i hope the OP got some help from the links i posted.

I apologize in advance for the hijack and will even it out by answering the already answered question.

Dyslexia is not a disease. It is a learning disability. You are born with it. And MerriAm Webster I trust more than MerriUm.

Bumblee bee is a co-dom/dominant mix, with the pastel gene being codom and the spider being dom.

    There, now we're even.

The words are dominant, co-dominant, and recessive.

This is a joke. I got an infraction labeled as a "personal slur" because I explained the difference between dyslexia and not being able to spell.

First of all, I apologize to the OP if my post made him feel bad. I was only on the post for 20 seconds, but from what I saw, he only misspelled those three words, so I thought comparing it to dyslexia was a bit harsh. I didn't think it was a personal slur...certainly didn't mean it as one. My little brother can't spell and it was actually misdiagnosed as dyslexia from the ages of 8-10 years old, so this is a topic I know fairly well.

I'm directionally challenged (can't tell my east from west/north from south without thinking really hard), so he and I joke about it all the time about how we're going to start a map making business. I'd have east and west backwards and he'd have them spelled wrong. Haha...trying to make light of it, not make a "personal slur.

As far as the mod who gave me the infraction goes...you're weak. You used some other post buried in this thread (which I never saw) as your "warning" and then you put "personal slur" as the reason for the infraction...just so people who see it will think I'm a real dirtbag. If I were into hurling personal insults over the internet, this would be the time...not for some guy who can't spell three words (which probably aren't even in the dictionary).

For some reason I thought this place was relaxed and fun...must have been thinking of a different forum.

    Hi,

Firstly please refrain from insulting the staff.

I am the staff member who made that warning post by the way - the fact you chose not to read it is hardly the fault of anyone else but yourself.

It may also be worth explaining to you that, had you not mentioned it yourself on the open boards, nobody would have had the faintest clue what the infraction you recieved was for. This is done in the current fashion for precisely the same reasons you mention.

    And, since you apparently also failed to read this section, I will quote it for you;

Public complaint will not help your case and may hurt it.

Can I please ask that you read the rules of the forum that you agreed to when you joined and the infraction system that we use to enforce them.

These are not new announcements introduced in secret or anything. They were in place long before you joined the site and agreed to follow them.

Wow, the OP is now leaving the site all because he couldn't spell.....awesome...way to make someone feel welcomed...Thank god spelling is one of my strengths or else I may have had the same welcome he did.

The ignore button goes for us to...if you don't like the way that someone spells or speaks then just ignore them...easy as that.

I know that I am new to the forums here so my opinion may not matter as much as some others but this whole thread just seemed ridiculous and unnecessary.. I'm done with it and will go ahead and continue to enjoy the site
