But seriously, often we do things (agree to follow rules) that we later find to be an imposition on our freedom of expression.

It is happening in many places...At work, the dress codes are being challenged, as times change and the organization seems out of step. Then there are the people who go so far as to stage protests to try to get rules/laws changed that may have been established "rules/laws" for a long time, simply because they have come to believe that the rules/laws should are invalid to the current times.

In fact, there are still some "rules" in law books that if inforced would have people in an uproar...should they be followed, simply because they are rules and we live in the place in question, or do we have the right to challenge those rules? I do not see that child as "being punished" I see him as learning some things about life and standing up for himself instead of being a mindless drone (but that's just me).

I am a great believer in freedom of expression...often to my own deteriment. :P

    Prejudice. Not a good thing.

The biggest, burliest guys who ride Harleys usually have hair longer than most women. The most ridiculous thing about assuming long hair on a guy means he is gay is that gay men are usually far, far more clean cut than straight guys.
