Nice little guy! Now as hard as it may be.... You've got to leave him be to settle in for a couple weeks. :P Believe me, I understand how tough it is to wait to handle them... My latest arrival is still in his 2 week settling in period and I can't wait to handle him.

You might want to give him something to climb on in his quarantine tub, like a small branch, bird perch, or pvc pieces. As you can now tell, boas are much more active and like to climb more than BPs, so they enjoy their exercise. :D

Heh.. Yeah these guys are a lot of fun. My husband doesn't own any reptiles, but my boa is the snake that converted him into enjoying handling them. He still doesn't want any of his own and won't pick out or initiate purchases, but he's more than happy to "play" with mine lol.

I would take a lot of time in picking out your second though. Maybe consider a morph or a locality that has different characteristics than the one you have now. I'd love to get a sunglow jungle or pastel jungle one day and also would really like to get a breeding pair of either Bcls or Nicaraguan Bcis.

I agree! But if you want one that will keep some (or all) of its' patterning as an adult, look for either a lipstick line albino or sunglow. Sunglows tend to hold pattern better than albinos, but lipstick line holds pattern best as an adult. Coral albino/sunglows tend to have an all over coralish-color rather than pattern as adults. There are so many great boa morphs and lines out there that it can be very hard to choose. :D

Definitely go for a sunglow over an albino. That hypo gene in the sunglows will help keep the color as adults. Also just me personally but if you are going to buy a "lipstick" line, make sure it was from Tom Burke stock somewhere in its gene pool. A lot of people like to throw around the name "lipstick" on babies as baby sunglows are brighter but once they turn into adults, you will definitely be able to tell the difference between a true lipstick and one that was just labeled it to bump up sales.

Also what I found easy and cheap plus fun to design are the PVC toys. I made a climbing branch/tree for Vicky. I just sanded it down to add a little roughness but some people will use a propane torch on them to give them the charred wood look or splash water on them then torch them to give them a pattern. I combined that with the silk vines you can get from craft stores and then bought a couple packs of suction cups with hooks at Home Depot and hung them up around the pvc toy and Vicky climbs all over, usually when she is hungry though

snows are great looking (as babies) but I've never seen pics of adults to see what they mature like. Gotta love a snake with white eyes lol.
