hatchling in the very center egg is shy.. keeps peeking its nose out then going back in. egg on left of that, keeps wiggling out a bit then going back in. but this is adorable. cant wait to show my 10 year old.

    Re: The Egg Webcam
??? With the webcam, and the light on 24/7.....the babies aren't getting a day/night cycle. Could that be making them reluctant to come out???? Even in the wild during hatching, there's light differences w/the day/nite cycle, cloud cover or storms, or being in the burrow (it's dark).

How long do you wait for them to come out??? The conversations with local breeders, and books like Kevin M's it says a couple of days after pipping. Is there ever a time you say "enough" and intervene?

I DO, however understand that the more they do on their own, the stronger they become but is there a time when you peel the egg and help them out?

Has the one at the bottom in the middle pipped? It looks like there is a shadow there that is moving around but I can't tell because of the condensation.

thats on you if you want to cut it or not...at this point i would because the others have piped ( didnt see the 5th one so dont know the time line) and to make sure its not dead in the egg ( some die full term)

    Hey,

I wonder how you would prepare the empty eggshell for a souvineer?

I meant to keep one from my first clutch but forgot all about it when the time came. I still have the first leopard gecko egg I hatched somewhere and the mandibles from my first tarantuals shed.:)

Kind of a gruesome collection I admit but the memories are golden.

The second one is out and weighs 58 grams. I think it is another female.

Dr Del I still have both eggs and was wondering if it is even possible to keep it. Wouldn't it start to mold?
    Thanks
