Well it is HOT today. I had the doors open on everyones cage with a box fan just blowing cool air past the cages and the room. Gina seemed to like it and found herself a nice comfy spot by the open door.

And she is totally laid back to boot. She is like Rosey, very curious and not scared at all or head shy. Sometimes though that can be a problem as she doesnt seem to respond well to booping so you boop her snoot to try and get her to stop and she just bulldozes over or around your hand lol. Rosey does that a lot too until i close her door and she runs into the glass door lol.

Usually it's a little more red. She isnt fired up If i catch her on a happy day, it seems almost like her tail is almost blood red. It's wild how boas will lighten and darken in color.

Thanks. I think there was a gal who was breeding some awesome Peruvians over in the UK. I was all excited to maybe get one, then i saw she was in the UK lol.

Thanks and i hear you. I want either another suriname or a Peruvian but i really dont have the space for one unless I re home one of my other snakes. But as weird as it sounds, I love all my other snakes and cant bring myself to get rid of any of them. Even Dottie the BP who i never see except for here and there when she randomly will stretch out on the cage floor for a night and hang out lol.

Re: Gina the Rio Bravo Pokigron Suriname progression thread
What a gorgeous girl Gina is. Boas have really made a great impression on me lately. Such a beautiful and diverse species.

Its hard to look at this now LOL!
I have an opportunity to pick 1 of a litter of 12.
My friend just had a Rio Bravo x Rio Bravo Poki litter.
I tried to get my son to trade his royal in but he's not having any of it. It actually makes me happy that he loves his royal so much, but I certainly am bummed I can't get one of these.
I'll enjoy your pictures instead.

Haha, i hear you. I told myself back when i had 4 snakes "one more wont make much of a difference". And while that is true, after telling myself that 4 times and now ending up with 8 snakes, the sum of it all does make a difference lol. I really want a Peruvian but i am fighting the urge. Although if i run across a stunning one, i might end up caving.
But honestly, Caesar is the most expensive of them all. The boas eat top out at a large rat once a month which is cheap and the BP eats a small rat every couple rats and Pat will top out on adult mice every couple weeks as well. Caesar though pounds down a 2xl guinea pig or a giant rat every 2 weeks which at the pet shop is expensive. When i get my fridge, hopefully that will half the food cost.
And thats good that your kid still loves his BP. Even though i dont see Dottie that often unless i bug her, i too still love my 'pet rock' lol.

Right on!
I love the ease of boas, and my carpet has stepped up with eating so she is very entertaining.
Wallace is great, but more involved to care for and handle as you well know with Caesar.
The royal will stay here. I honestly don't think I could part with it anyhow. A trade sounds good until its time to say goodbye. I think I'd have a harder time letting her go than I portray here.
I do have a Rio Bravo boa, and I can certainly enjoy a Poki by looking here at your pictures.

Yeah Dottie actually finally ate last week after not eating for about 7 months. I dont know if it's a coincidence but she got interested in food and ate her first one after i put her back on aspen. I also put everyone else back on aspen as i have the extra bag and ran out of cypress and no one seems to care either way except for like i said, Dottie and her eating.
And yeah, I re homed Rango as i thought i was going to have some RL issues which more or less got resolved and i kind of miss the guy. It is easier to picture re homing your snakes but much harder to actually do. I too kicked around the idea of re homing Caesar when i thought i was going to have RL issues and I backed out of about 4 deals for him. Just couldnt do it. The guy is my giant lush. Never took a shot at me or shown any form of aggression. He is like a giant sponge who loves to be petted lol.

Thanks. I do like Gina a lot. I was actually looking for a Peruvian BCC but when i saw her for sale along with her sister and brother from Chris Wolf, i couldnt pass it up. Luckily the guy that beat me to the pick took the other sister which IMO wasnt as nice looking as Gina. All three sold out in about an hour of him posting though so i got lucky.
She has really colored up though with a nice buckskin top, pink sides and when she is happy, a nice dark red tail.

That's a cool story, I'm glad you got the one you wanted.
I like the Pucallpa Peruvian myself.

Re: Gina the Rio Bravo Pokigron Suriname progression thread
Is so awesome to see boas and how they eat so readily. All my animals know feeding day and can find them stalking the glass near the exit. She looks great. Best wishes.
-
Thats the one thing i love about boas, they will anything anytime. I bet any of my boas would eat an ice cube rubbed with a rat off my shoulders in a hurricane if they could grab it lol. Heck they eat even in full blue of shed. They cant see a thing but they will strike and flail until they latch onto something haha.

Re: Gina the Rio Bravo Pokigron Suriname progression thread
She's pretty and looks like a real sweetheart Sauzo. My boas are still young but they haven't missed a meal yet with the exception of the first f/t hopper I offered the BO. They've been 100% since then. I like it!

Thanks. Yeah, i wasnt a huge fan of the freckles at first but i actually like a little bit now. Kind of breaks up the monotony of a single color. She was also in her darker phase so they stood out more and you can especially see it in her head with her eyelashes.

This line of Pokis is just off the charts in my opinion.
IF,,,,, IF, I was able to add one more, and I just can't; It would be one of these!

Dang Sauzo. I went back and looked at some of the earlier but recent pics of Gina. She is turning out really nice! So clean. My Suri is still doing pretty good. He is growing slowly but surely. A lot slower than my BCI. He is long and lean but hasn't really started to put on any significant girth. I've been feeding him every 8 - 10 days and he is always ready to eat. I'll try to get some pics up soon.
