Like i said,, its like any form of magick, the circle has to be opened and closed properly, if the circle is not closed properly, the dead can still contact and roam the earth so to speak. But in saying that most sessions tend to be ok.
Have had some great experiences with it and some bad ones.

Once upon a time, I made it to Candy Castle drawing 6 double blue cards in a row! I just took Rainbow Trail pass Lord Licorice where I had to wait my turn at Gramma Nut's Peanut Brittle House. I then swam thru the Ice Cream Sea and hightailed it pass Gloppy where I met King Kandy at Candy Castle. To this day I hold the family record at CandyLand, a Milton Bradley game. It was 'magick.':)

Yes, so for the love of god, make sure you read the instructions that Parker Brothers have so graciously given you with your glow-in-the-dark portal into the netherworld.

Depends on your personal definition of Magic.

Personally.. ouija boards are games.. unless you know what you're doing, you're not going to raise spirits by sitting around a bit of cardboard giggling at each other. Although, if you play strip ouija, you'll raise everyone's spirits!
