    Wasn't it the 1977 that actually had Oldsmobile 403 engines in them due to a strike at the Pontiac engine plant? And 1980 got the lame duck pontiac generation 3 301 engine. The Olds had some pretty good snot, you just have to expect to pay more for parts than GM's good old stand by the small block chebby. The 78 to 79 had the good old T/A 6.6.

    he can always put a small block chevy in it, so the parts are easy to find and cheaper.

    Yes, but you know how to spot the Pontiacs with chevy engines in them at a car show don't you? They are the ones without the hoods opened up! :D

    Granted I can't say much, I'm dropping a Pontiac 455 HO into my little 72 Nova SS. Pontiacs are torque monsters. I'll have to invest in Good Year once I get done with the frame off.

    72 SS with a big block nice.
    i have a rebuilt 355 for my nova for now. if i ever get time to work on it.
