    Re: Lost
I have had numerous escapes over the years. My first snake Harley a norml corn got away 2 days after I got him. He wasnt big only 2ft max so he could squeeze into anything. Thats how he got out. I had a cord running into his cage for his hot rock (which was before it was proven hot rocks are bad news). He got through the little hole the cord was coming through. I was in a very messy crowded basement so searching was like looking for a needle in a haystack. I searched what I could, no luck. He came back on his own a few days later. I found him crawling across the rim of his cage lid. I also fell asleep with him once. His cage is right by my bed and thats where he went.

This last spring I bought a bag of ch bps. They were all in a big tank together for the first while as I was building them a rack so they could be seperated. They manged to lift the lid off, had to be a combined effort. They were all out! 11 small baby bps. I knew they were out the second I got home since I was greeted by one. Once agian my reptiles are kept in the basement along with all the storage. So the hunt is on for the remaining 10. I found a few immidiately, I find baby bps are very curious and always on the move and love to climb. All but one were found in high areas, so when one of bps escapes the first place I look is up. Unlike cornsnakes that find a spot and hide forever. My female corn got out once, came out on her own a month later and was crawling across my shelves with my tanks.
I also had my big female bp get out once, man she is strong. Popped her latching lid right off. She was on the top if the boxes of storage trying to reach the rafters.
Then my most recent escapee, my spider! He had gone on a little trip to the mall to see santa,(it was pet day, photos with santa) It is cold here so I had him in a cooler bag with heat packs and blankets to stay warm, and he was in a zip up pillowcase inside that. Well i got home and had to attend to someting b4 I could put him back in his bin, but I didnt want him to get to warm in the cooler bag so I opened it knowing he was in a zipped up pillowcase which until now always contained my snakes no prob. Now I take no chances, I tie a knot in the bag.Well he busted open the zipper and got out. He was out for 6 days, and I searched everywhere. Hes not a small snake either so not as many places to hide. well he showed up, he was crawling all around my females tub, who I am trying to breed with him. Guess he has the same idea.
