It's very possible, they are awful light. I would say they are a dark platinum though. Platinums can often be mistaken for a beige. Those babies look like Mink or (if Chocolates weren't so rare) Chocolate Platinums.

So is platinum the same as Blue beige?

Russian Blue Silvered. Not to be confused with a Russian Silver. His coat is evenly ticked with white hairs.

    Chocolate based Platinum.

As I was told, yes. It is the European reference to Platinum. It is still used a lot in both standard references though. It's more descriptive, seeing as there are several different shades of Platinum.

Excellent pictures, Michelle. I wonder if I might ask you to post those and any others you'd care to share in our sticky on rat coat colors and patterns. It would be nice to have your expertise there as well since I know many of our members enjoy breeding for color and pattern as much as for feeders.

Thanks so much. Sorry I noticed after I posted your signature is Crissy not Michelle, it's a bit confusing.

Sorry, my full name is Christina Michelle Cain. I use Michelle as a user name because "Crissy" is generally taken. I am fine being called either. :)
