    Itch can be a verb-as ladyOh said... but it is a feeling not an action

    Well actually 'itching' is a gerund not a verb.

    A scratch can itch. But One does not itch a scratch.

    I have a scratch that itches. I'd like to scratch that scratch that itches but I can' reach it. :oops:
