Hey just replying to what ya said.
"They would end up getting more energy and nutrients from the smaller meal..."
I was just curious how they get more "nutrients from a smaller meal"? This is where the whole apples thing comes into play..
Now if your just talking about size of meal.. well yes, A smaller meal will digest faster because it is smaller and they will have more energy. Huh , kinda like us.. If I pork out I would be sluggish and take longer to digest due to I ate more.. That part was not rocket science. I do understand that :gj:
Re: Rescue.. Well here we go...
Now for the whole me feeding them before going..
The vet said it was :gj:. So I will listen to my vet who has been doing this for 40 years and has all the college backing.
I think he knew what he was saying. Like he said they need to eat. and no matter if they have a vet appt they would be stressed anyway getteing moved to see them. It was not like we held them all day and played catch . Just picked him up looked him over and then put him back in the mobile tub for him.
Anyways.....
We really didnt have a name for them yet.. So far we named the girl "lucky" and the boy "duck" ..
Not sure if that will stick but who knows...I will try to post pics of the progress of my girl. Plus better pics of the boy ...
On top of all of this my first BP had a swee shed and is looking so sharp:gj: If I must say so myself. Now to get the sand boa, corn,& milk to shed the same.. All were in shed at the same time.
Re: Rescue.. Well here we go...
I have a 700g male that went off food all winter. I finally got him to eat an adult mouse. Since he will not eat rats (right now anyway) I am offering him mice every 5 days. Getting him to eat smaller meals more offten will help him catch up for his 6 month fast..... A big meal may just make him go into another fast...
Re: Rescue.. Well here we go...
err... wow wow wow
i think everyone, who is NOT READING COMPLETLY needs to.
because we ARE doing the right things.
taking steps, reading up, and asking our vet.
we are not trying to "FATTEN" him up.
he ate 1 large rat, and it left a SLIGHT buldge in his stomach,
and he TOOK, the other one.
we are really doing the right thing, even though "YOU" may not think we are.
we have many snakes, and we know it was a KINDA crazy meal for this guy... and i highly doubt it till be that extreeme ever again.
he is a VERY large male.
the vet said the meal was fine.
and he looked healthy and everything we did was PROPER.
we read as much as possible, to continue to learn more and more.
and if we dont know, we ask people on here, or our vet.
