Re: Another Craigslist ....
Ugh, never mind I will just keep my mouth shut (once again). I'm telling ya, my tongue has been bitten several times this week and I think it is bleeding.
Ok, not biting it all the way. Enough of this "clique" crud already from new people. Give us a chance to get to know you before you decide we are all a bunch of high school children who won't allow newbies in. And if your first couple months of posting are about cliques, how so and so is wrong or anything else on the negative side, don't expect people to warm up to you. This IS a friendly place if you allow it to be.

It skirted us here in Indy, but a little further south where my parents and sis live, they're still getting it. They have about a foot, and weather.com is predicting another inch for every hour during the night... and I have to take my niece back to her mother tomorrow! :weirdface
I was going to try to get to Columbus this weekend, but doesn't look like that's going to happen. This is the second time I haven't gone due to weather... I'm just ready for spring already!
Let's skip Arizona and just hit up Vegas... :gj:

No need to let people "warm up to me". I think ladywhipple is going to be keeping me warm in the future.;)

Re: Another Craigslist ....
So, after a long week of preparing for and vending at the Tampa Reptile Mania and Exotic Info, here I am to touch up upon what's been said here.
My name is Joe Rollo. Has been so all my life.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, have lived in Miami, Fl., and currently reside in Cape Coral, Fl.
Been doing this for 15 years. Been posting on KS for about 10, Fauna for a little less.
Have been a vendor at the Nation Reptile Breeders Expo in Daytona for 10 years or more, since they held it in Orlando at the Radisson and we would head down to the Boston Lobster Feast after the show for All-You-Can-Eat Lobsters for $19.95.
Keeping around 300 snakes doesn't give me the luxury of time to check all the forums all the time, so I can't say I know many of you by your user names, but I do know Andy Federico, AJF Reptiles, (he's seen my T+ Albinos and other high end snakes) and I can say that many OTHER users here notified me directly about this post. Thanks again guys!
At first, I didn't see the need to 'defend' myself, since there really was nothing to defend, and I thought the whole thread was rather silly.
Anyway, I do keep and breed Boa Constrictors and Ball Pythons. I use solely Boaphile Plastics as caging for all my snakes.
I really don't understand the confusion with trading snakes for objects, vehicles, or even property. If someone would really give me the title to their home just by me sending a picture of a snake and making promises, I really don't know what to say about that ... lol... but the fact of trading animals for property or other is nothing strange, or new, or out of this world. Especially in todays real estate market.
(funny, a breeder friend of mine received a cuban link gold chain from a customer weighing 280 grams at the show just this weekend for a few boas valued at about $3k.
In todays gold market, that's about a $10k gold chain he received for $3k. I would say that was a great deal! Great opportunity!
The customer actually offered this deal, so it's not like he was pressured or scammed in any sense.)
Not sure if all are aware, but out here, property is cheap, and we still have lots of land for $10-$15,000., and homes for sale for $75,000 or so.
I could acquire land just by trading one snake, or a home just by trading a couple snakes.
For the land/home owner that is watching the market, and his profits, crumble, that could be a great opportunity.
Life is what you make of it.
If we sit on the same animals, on the same site, and just watch as things get worse, that's what will happen. If you explore, study, research, and take other means to get yourself out there and market your animals, you could do far, far better than the current market conditions allow.
I do dabble in real estate here in South Florida and saw this as a possible opportunity.
So, I will attach a few pictures of myself, my facility (snake rooms), and some shows i've done, just for reference.
and regarding the weather, e've also had a few cold fronts, but generally experience weather in the 65-80 degree range out here in the Cape at this time.
So, if any of you would like to introduce yourself, and we become friends, i'd be glad to invite you down to come by, enjoy the area, check out my collection, and even stay with me for a few, if need be. I'm always open to meeting new reptile folks! 8)
Thanks again, Joe Rollo - Bci Joe
