i support you bringing in new critters... but not when you are financially strapped. what if that little piglet needs to see a vet?

If I wanted to go to the doctors I could. I have money, I just rather not give it to a doctor who is just going to give me something that doesn't work. Been there and done that. I hate doctors. Always have and I have to be "dying" before I'll go see one.

As for the animals.. I have two "hidden" credit cards that are there just for my pets in case of an emergancy or vet trip.

I could care less if anyone here takes my side or not.

I know how she really is with a lot of her animals from WHAT SHE'S SAID on other sites. If she's going to put it out there to be read by people then she has to be willing to accept concern for what she does.

I've seen many people discuss what other people do or don't do by what they've read on other sites. It's no different here.

Gee you are funny lol.I never said i did not care.I was just pointing out the differances between them.If someone comes here and asks for help since there animal is sick they get help.If someone is trying to sell animals that MIGHT be sick they are exposed. If someone adopts a animal in the attempt to give it a better life then they are approved of.I see no reason to bring ANYONES personal health into a thread here because you dont like them. Now do you see the differances?

regardless... i understand her intentions - she is concerned about allison's animals... just as any other member here would be.

should this have been handled via PM's... yup definitely. ;) but now that we all know about the ringworm... i hope allison will see that (i can only speak for myself here) i am not attacking her... just asking her to look at this from another perspective is all. i hope she gets treatment and gets her pets treatment and all is well.

and i hope her new piglet thrives in her loving home! :sunny:

Aleesha,i am shocked it was you to bring that stuff up here.Yes i said something on fauna but i never brought it here.I apologized on fauna and here though.I never mentioned anything from a post on another site though.

since she isn't treating herself... is she treating her rat? i'm guessing not but of course i could be wrong.

Am I treating the rat? Yes tomorrow I'll be giving my vet a ring and see what he has to say or what he thinks the best action plan would be. Since when I realized what it was it was to late to call them.

Just because I brought in a new critter, doesn't mean she is going to get it. I'm really watching what I do and I'm already a clean freak so my clean freakness is now in over drive. So I'm probably going over board with washing everything. But better to be safe then sorry.

And another thing... the pig was already here before I got ring worm. I know it isn't from her since she is very anti social and doesn't like people. Also my rat was the one who was crawling up and down my sleeve a few days ago, and she been itching a lot lately so I'm pretty sure she is the one who has it and who I got it from. Believe me I don't want anyone else to get it and I'm trying my best to just keep it to myself!!!

Oh no. I brought the piggy home LAST Saturday - Jan 6th. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I've just be behind on everything for the past week so I'm trying to catch up. No problems or hurt feelings. I'm glad you have written what you have about the ring worm.

To jump in here, I bred and showed guinea pigs for years. The babies need to be weaned at THREE WEEKS to avoid any males mating with mom or sisters. They are notoriously hard to sex at this age- even experts have been wrong- so try to find someone knowledgeable to help.

If you are feeding a freshly milled guinea pig pellet, that will have plenty of vitamin C for the pig. You can fatten her up with a BIT of calf manna or sweet feed. DON'T overdo it or it can lead to toxemia and death. I would only give a teaspoon or two a day. Don't forget unlimited hay to maintain gut health.

If you'd like to see my pigs (yes, I rehomed most of my herd to another breeder when I dissolved my caviary but I'm not going to go into that  ) the website is Cool beans caviary I still keep it up for old times' sake.
