If that's how they teach spelling and grammar in public schools, then I'll give thanks again to my anal-retentive bibliophile father.

We (my siblings and I; I don't have human kids) were in 4-H, various competetive teams, performed all over the state in a Scottish/Irish dance group, and hung out with other homeschooled kids. I had the highest SAT scores in our entire state that year (granted, it was an impoverished and illiterate state, but still...), and attended an Ivy League college. I say again, homeschooling rocks!

...and that's generally the case with home schooled children....they are better educated and have better social skills, living skills, are more independent, etc. than public schooled children.....statistics prove it. ;)

I wish I had been home schooled....maybe I'd already have my degree in Homeopathic medicine and horticulture. :D

I am a Member Service Specialist at a local Credit Union. That means I am a teller and I can also close loans and help with basicly any member issue.

That's probably the single biggest misconception about homeschooling..."ohhh the poor kids are isolated from the world".
    WRONG!

Parents who home school are, 9 times out of 10, part of a community per se' of homeschoolers. Our children get LOTS of social interaction with other children their age. They have field trips with other homeschooling parents and children, sporting events, extracurricular activities and yes, they have.....friends.
They also get a *much* better education that is based one on one instead of 40 to 1.

What home schooled children *don't* get is teachers molesting them, students beating them up, passing them drugs and alcohol, they don't get into gangs, they don't participate in drive by shootings...and they don't get the whirlwind of bad influences in general.

OT rant finished...now back to our regularly scheduled thread. :D

okay, i understand your point but public schools are nowhere near as bad as ur making them out to be...

LOL @ drive by shootings and passing drugs and alcohol IN SCHOOL

nobody in my school does drugs or alcohol while in school, nobody gets beat up, no students get molested, nobody is in a gang, and there are never any drive by shootings.....unless ur living in frickin Compton, California :lmao:
