    Raul, Its not too complicated around here. I flop the snake on the floor or look for sunlight shining through a window, then fire away. If I take lots of pics there sometimes will be a good one in the batch. hahaha :P

    My problem with head shots is that when I get up close enough, the flash completely washes out the picture.

    Have you tried taking the pic from a slight angle? From what I have experienced already, the sheen off of the snake's skin acts very similarly to glass. Any pic you take from head on you're going to get that reflection from the flash.

    Thats easy to do when your living large in the south, its cold here and wont warm up until april. flash is the enemy and washes out the color. I have not figured it out yet, but catching sunshine coming in through the window when the sun is high in the sky so there are no shadows works good. all you can do is take loads of shots and hope for a good one or 2. :peace:
