Re: anyone have a childrens python?
Hello people,
It is I who made this trade. Both snakes are being called Australian Dwarf Pythons. They are both hybrids in the sense that prior to 1991 these two snakes were the same species. Most all Children's & Spotted pythons that have been CB in the pet trade since before 1991, or those CB from those lines, are hybrids to some point because back then they were not seperate species. To this day these are still called Children's Pythons (even the hybrids) in the pet trade. I was not being dishonest or misleading, which is why I traded them as "Australian Dwarf Pythons", because honostly I can't tell you what percentage of which they are.
Cristine asked if they were also called Children's and I simply responded "Yes" assuming she was just looking for a proper caresheet. If she had asked for the exact latin name my answer would have obviously been different.
Cristine & I will resolve this in a way that both of us can walk away from this misunderstanding, hopefully with no hard feelings.
Sincerely,
Rick Sisco
Re: anyone have a children's python?
*Edit:
1: I offered to honor our prior arrangement
2: I offered to return her $50 and make a payment into her PayPal account
3: I offered to return her two het ghost, at my cost & return her $50 via PayPal
We have come to an agreement and this arrangement is settled. I will keep the two Het Ghosts and the Australian Dwarf Pythons. I will return her $50 and make a cash payment into her PayPal account.
I am pleased to have resolved this amicably. Thank you Cristine.

Thanks for clearing that up, Rick! :gj:
Re: anyone have a childrens python?
Thanks Judy,
I just wish I happened to have noticed this post originally because we could have skirted the whole issue before any shipment was made, but generally I just browse the BPS forums when I am in a hurry or have other things going on.
Anyways, all is well that ends well. Right?
Rick

it is not 1991 . there is no doubt in my mind that these are cb as i know australias exporting rules. i have beenbreeding childrens pythons for over 5 years so dont act like you dont realize these are 2 different species. antaresia childreni and stimsoni/maculosa. if you continue to breed i recommend learning the current common and scientific names for all species you sell :)
Re: anyone have a childrens python?
Uro,
The issue has been resolved. Your post is reduntant.
Rick
Re: anyone have a childrens python?
It's not reduntant. Why are you misrepresenting the animals? They are crosses and should be labeled as crosses. Do not try to sell them as something they are not.
Not only that but they are not breeding size, and one looks very thin.
IMO, you misrepresented these animals and should own up to it.

lol does this mean every python species in africa under 10 foot is considered an african dwarf? maybe i should labe a ball python as an african dwarf or maybe i could label an angolian as an african dwarf or is that considered false advertising? dont ask me because im not the one that classifies every antaresia species as "australian dwarfs". also spotted pythons can grow a good 2 feet more than a childrens python so dont label them as the "same" species
ps:cris78 this pair(clearly not ready to breed) can breed (when ready) and produce hybrids but it is much more ethical to buy pure childrens and breed them.
:)
