Re: What do you do??
Tack another one up for what the general population calls "computer guy". I've had my hands into just about every aspect of technology there is to be dealt with in public education. I'm 26 and have been serving in the technology field of public education for almost 10 years. Yes that would put me starting out as an employee of the high school I graduated from at the same time I was a student. My last district I was the technology Director for 3 yrs before the people managing money where found not to be doing that so well so there where alot of cuts :( Right now I'm with a great ISD and responsible for the technology needs and support for two specialized schools. One is an all special education school and the other is a career technical center (trades school), both have students coming from all over the county encompasing 12 local public school districts, as well as charter and non-public area students. Its quite a large are of west MI we cover. We are also progressing on what has become a long and difficult (political) project of building up a stronger fiber network not just for the schools in our region, but 911 services, as well as being a major POP that will tie into some of the other major POP's to provide faster more direct routing.
Oh I almost forgot my personal business! As some of you know I also do web hosting...I am big on the fact that I am not reseller of some data warehouse I've never seen before. I build my own web servers, I manage them, I configure them, I set you up and provide all the support personally.
My herps aren't business, they are pleasure for sure, although I have done some buying and selling. That is not to say that those who can make a business out selling herps don't love what they do...we have plenty of examples here that paint a clear picture of both quality and love for animals.

Re: What do you do??
Cage cleaner/critter breeder (snakes & rodents), photo cropper & organizer, e-mail answerer, website builder, runner-of-many-errands, tamer of the endlessly-ringing phone, Kev's personal assistant/secretary/babysitter, and the hundreds of other unforseen tasks that come with being self-employed.
And that's just my day job! ;) There's also the domestic side of things - full time household management & all that entails...homemaking, lovebird & kitty-cat mommying, etc.
My hobbies are varied (in no particular order)...wine collecting, cooking & entertaining, hair growth & maintenance (see my profile pic before you decide that sounds weird), reading, singing, playing guitar, studying classical dressage, field herping, yoga, and of course, strength training & masochistic levels of cardio.
Whew!

What do I do, what dont I do.
What pays the bills, plumbing contractor.spent most of my life working on weekends as pro expert motocross racer. traveled the country and have seen some of the better hospitals the US has to offer. still enjoy mountain biking and just getting out into the woods. field herping, few people would understand how diverse the reptile and amphibian population in N.J. really is. pythons have been a constant with me ever since i was a young boy. started keeping and breeding ball pythons in the mid. 80'S, and its more fun now than ever. I could ramble on about life guarding and bartending. boy the memories there. Yep thats me. ED CLARK

Re: What do you do??
My life is pretty boring as of now.:P
I currently work at a new aquatic shop in town (freshwater & saltwater livestock) as "livestock manager" which basically means that I do most of the ordering, tank cleaning, water changes, and general sales. Its not all bad as I love what I'm doing, and I love working with people. I do have to admit that I've heard, "Nemo, Nemo, Nemo!" one too many times, but I still like to see kids enthusiastic about fishkeeping. Being the only employee keeps me quite busy.
I did the college thing for roughly two years, few more credits to receive my AAS degree...however I'm taking a year or so off just to work. I started into college focusing on an advertising major, then switched to graphic design, and then business management... Basically being confused with what I would want to do with the rest of my life I decided to take some time off of school.
My dream job would still pertain to the similar avenue I'm working with now...however more of the custom setups for businesses/private aquariums working on tank design and fabrication, and filtration systems with acrylic. Also something along the lines of those fake decorations you would see in a public aquarium on a smaller scale. I just need to discover an avenue to study and learn about the business...and continue writing my business plan.
As to some of my interests and hobbies outside of work. I'm getting back into the gym scene, weightlifting is invigorating! I love keeping saltwater reefs, and conducting research. I'm the new VP of the Rochester Marine Aquarist Club, and moderator on a saltwater forum. My other loves are drawing/sketching, photography, reading, and fishing. I thoroughly enjoy reading about Eastern cultures and religions, with a current kick on Zen/Chinese Buddhism, Shintoism, Daoism, Meditation and the practice of Tai Chi. (In need of balance and peace:P ) I of course also love reptiles, mainly geckos...eventually I would love to work with some more pythons and boas, hopefully blackheads start coming down in price.
Just a little bit about me. Thanks for listening.
