As a python owner I'm always so surprised at how thin colubrids are as babies! She looks no thicker than a pencil :o

Many hatchling corn snakes aren't even as thick as a pencil. But they grow...
The skinniest snakes I've ever raised were some desert glossy snakes...at only 7" long, they made corn snakes look big! :D

Oh my, I will have to Google those skinny things !
Towards evening time I peek into her enclosure and it's like almost every time she's peeking out and when we meet eye-to-eye and she draws her head back in the hide and then she'll ease it out again as if to see if I'm still spying on her. She's definately feeling more comfortable.

You gave me a laugh, Jellybeans...I can picture you & your little corn snakes playing "peekaboo". I just love nosy snakes...

I used to have a pair of glossy snakes...sort of a creamy beige with black & brown freckles, they don't get very big (about 3') & they're docile f/t mouse-eaters.
Raising their "kids" was a real challenge though, they start off as lizard-eaters. That's why you don't see them captive-bred...like my TX longnose snake, they
take some time & expertise to "convert". Both glossy & longnose snakes have a fairly narrow face, so they don't eat bigger mice than hoppers. Nice pets as
    adults though.

Congrats. I'm seriously considering getting a corn before long also.

Our younger corn is majorly nosy like that also.

When he feels my footsteps in the room, he will peek out and proceed to come all the way out of his hides and up to the sliding glass doors and watch me, particularly in the evening. I think he believes he is more likely to be fed by doing this. He'll just sit there and stare at me.

Oh my gosh, yes. This exactly! He will kind of move his head side to side to see me better, and it looks exactly like someone shifting around to catch a waitress's eye. Hahaha.
