I haven't tried selling. I didn't think people would be willing to pay just way the material costs. Good sock wool runs between 6 to 10 dollars per pair and can go up. Not to mention the work.

So I have given away some to people that realize what goes into them and treasure them. Rather then think it's nothing to wash them hot and throw them away..

That's mostly what I do, too. I sell them for just over the cost of the yarn, so I can buy more! :rofl: Normally I pay about $15/20 per pair for yarn, and I sell them for about $20- 30 and then if I can get a bonus of fingerless gloves I sell them for about $10-15.

When I give a pair of socks to someone, I make sure they are "worthy" and will appreciate them. Like, I didn't give a pair to my kids until I knew they wouldn't walk around outside barefoot in them and stuff.

Okay I'm going to start a new thread on sock knitting once I get back from the store.

Wow those are absolutely amazing! You need to repost those in the new thread I just started up in Creative corners.

Never really thought about this topic. In no particular order......

My boat
My Camaro
My gun collection

The rest are things that can be easily replaced. The memories I’ve made with these three things can’t be replaced.

Here’s a picture of me with the Camaro when I was a kid in the late eighties. Of all the things I might one day have to part with, this will be the last to go.
