Theses are older pics. I have removed the front clips, or have just left one only. I do use one screw with the threads filed down to act as a stop, see pic below.

After removing the one front stop the hides just slide out.

‘’There must be a stop, otherwise during poking around/exploring mode they get behind the hide and push it forward.

They have not messed in their hides yet, nor shed inside. For that reason I only slide the hides out every few months and wipe them down with a hand wipe.

I think I have to clean Gerald’s sky hide once a week or so. Doesn’t generally make a huge mess but a little bit here and there. Phyllis never used hers so she lost it. Don’t think the mirror clips would hold her weight anymore either way

For a skyhide for a big snake I’d probably start with a Cambro food-service pan, and fabricate rails. Cambro pans have a good lip on all four sides, and are designed to hang from the lip while full of food. You usually see the clear polycarbonate ones, but they’re also available in black and off-white.

Yeah, I had considered that but Phyllis never used her sky hide once so I just got rid of it. Gerald basically lives in his though haha
