He's beautiful and has a very sweet face! And the person you bought from-- I'm impressed that they were so concerned over the welfare of the snake to time the shipping just right. That's great!

Thank you! His face matches his sweet, if timid personality. Chun was amazing to work with. You can tell he really cared about his snakes, and his customers. He even sent out little emails to let those of us with incliment climate know that he was checking the weather every week, and that our snakes were being cared for. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0085d3ee94.jpg

Re: Banana/Coral Glow Emperor Pin Progression
Horatio hasn't eaten in a few weeks, but is gaining weight in spite of this, and is old enough where he may have started a winter fast, so I try not to stress.
Still waiting on my AP cage (week 15, woot woot!), as I am excited about the ability to keep a slightly more stable ambient temp with the RHP (and about the opportunity to break out the power drill, Dremel, and hot glue gun).
The food setting on my phone camera so far seems to be the best one for taking pictures of sir pretty boy. Apparently he doesn't like having substrate on his head, because he dunked himself in his freshly changed water dish last night to remove some... And so his faithful servent emptied and refreshed it once more. Thank you! I haven't had him very long, in the grand scheme of things, but I don't think he yellow has faded or browned at all. If anything, I think the darker pin markings may have faded a bit: They're still there, but maybe not as prominently as when I first got him. I hope he stays this yellow as he ages.

Loveland right now, but I lived in Greeley for a while last year, and FoCo before that. The world is a small, small place!

Re: Banana/Coral Glow Emperor Pin Progression
Since Horatio hasn't eaten in a little over a month, I tried a few new concepts last night to see if they would make a difference. After it had thawed, I warmed his rat in slightly hot water for three, 10 minute cycles. Instead of hair-drying on the floor in front of rhe tub, as I usually do, I toasted the rat on the table next to the tub. Knowing that the sound of the hair dryer=food, he poked his head out of his hide... And either was very extra tempted by what he smelled, or was very hungry. Under one of his mopani pieces he went so that he could watch me warm his rat with the air of a food critic watching a chef prepare a meal. His strike was quick, and he happily proceeded to eat it in a variety of contortions, like the little weirdo he is at heart. [emoji16]
With that over with, I'm wondering if I should contact AP next week and make sure everything is going alright with his new enclosure. I know 16 weeks is not an unusual amount of time to wait for them, and I know they've had conventions taking up their time, so I definitely don't want to make them feel pestered, but I also would like to know for sure that it hasn't gotten lost somewhere in the shuffle. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...422d458c1a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...5bead038d6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b537b05df5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7cb1af6430.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b9ce7da6a9.jpg

Re: Banana/Coral Glow Emperor Pin Progression
Horatio seems to make up for being so bright that he never looks dull in shed by becoming not only pink on his belly, but almost all over as well. It's actually a flattering side-effect that photos just don't capture well.
He needs new hides, I think, but I'm trying to wait until my T10 arrives before splurging on those. *stares hopefully at email*https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b26675b046.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4402ae436b.jpg

Re: Banana/Coral Glow Emperor Pin Progression
Today is fresh snake day!
Either his pattern is getting more distinct with each shed, or his markings just fade as he gets closer to shedding gradually enough for me not to notice. He does seem to have some bew marking either way, especially on his tail, which hasn't had anything really distinct on it until now. However, he was very hyper thus morning, so pictures of such, as we'll as a new weight, will have to wait.
He also finally seems to have gotten rid of the little rub marks on his head from this summer. Re: Banana/Coral Glow Emperor Pin Progression
Today we rung in the first feeding day of 2019!
Since switching to rats full time in October, Horatio has only wanted to strike and eat once a month. Tried feeding him after he shed two weeks ago, and he was mildly interested, but not interested enough to eat. Thus, I'm just going to feed him at the begining of each month until at least spring, when his appetite might pick up a little.
I had the rat on the edge of the tub when he struck the first time. His strikes make me jump, and since he didn't get a good grasp on the rat, it flew out of the tub and a short distance across the room. We decided the five second rule was fine.
He still does not have rhe best grasp of gravity and physics, as this video of him weight lifting his dinner displays.
