Btw I'm not arguing and I thank you for your input!

but if u can't see the snake in the cage, are u sure it's in there? is it in a hide? or did it get out like last time?: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...a-heart-attack i think you're splitting hairs. also u cannot expect her to ask those questions if u didn't think she was a good nurse/employee in the first place.

anyways i made a sign for us herpers. have a cookie and be sure to hang this up in your house:

I'd contact her employment agency and let them know... Whoever you had to sign up with for care. They probably did not tell her about the snake or she didn't read the info they gave her. In either instance, it needs to be reported to prevent it from happening in the future. They also need to know that your father did not receive care. If you pay for that care, they need to remit the cost of that visit. If your insurance pays for the care, still contact them and tell them that you need to have a makeup visit to compensate or you will contact your insurance agency and report the incident, etc.

The women did act unprofessionally and although people can have serious irrational fears, she should have come back after the freak out to at least explain and schedule someone else to come and do the appointment if she was literally that afraid.

I've actually had the opposite reaction from people who are legitimately afraid of snakes IRL, which is kind of weird, considering how I'm expecting the 'KILL IT WITH FIRE' response bc that's my response to spiders most of the time. Unless they're someone's pets. Then I just won't say anything and maybe look at it from a distance. Because they ARE interesting, I just don't want them on me. (someone on my facebook feed keeps insects and spiders, and her spider disappeared for about three days, then reappeared inside its enclosure. that's a solid NOPE for me but she's happy so i'm obviously not gonna say anything lmao.)

But most of the folks I talk to about my noodle react with the typical 'HOLY CRAPOLA WHAT????? WHY?' before then asking all kinds of questions. Or this older lady I work with is terrified, but I mention doing things like making hats for snakes and she then gives me all these cool ideas for materials and mini fake flowers and stuff.

Worst response I've had was from my brother, who hates snakes anyways (once his high school band took a trip to florida and he was freaking out about all the WILD GIANT PYTHONS in the area that were going to eat him upon arrival. he almost didn't go.)

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The spider was out for 3 days??? Oh hell NO!!!!!! NOOOOPEE!!! If I even see a little spider in my room I won't sleep til I know it's flushed down the toilet let alone a pet I'm assuming tarantula... I was born in Florida so I can actually say invasive Burmese pythons are the least of my worries especially since there's actual venomous snakes commonly around along with huge spiders Nuh uh I don't know what my parents were ever thinking for moving there at one point!!!
