Fortunately, Nageswari is still small enough that I didn't even bother with band-aids. And she doesn't seem to have held a grudge.

I deserved it. I was trying to hook her out, and instead of giving up when it didn't work/she escaped, and kept telling me no with increasing emphasis, I kept going. I've given up before when snakes have politely said no but stoopid hooman was stoopid.

I'd had surgery about 5 days before, which added to my stupid and reaction (tears, and not from pain). It took beagle snuggles and two of the BPs and my sweetheart IJCP to take turns reassuring me I wasn't a complete failure as a snake owner. [emoji846] And I didn't try to handle the blood again for a couple weeks until DH was home to get her out for me.

This thread is getting really good (but guys, please let's not turn it into another AP cage sales convention, LOL). Regarding breeding bites, has anyone read or heard whether or not males get all hot and bothered if there are no females around or is it only if they get the scent of love in the air?
Also leaning towards something with SD influence, 10 to 12 feet seems ideal to me. Although, and this is a whole different topic, I am looking for some information on size control through feeding strategies.

More info linked for furthering the discussion.

Male, pre-mating combat is mentioned as is the "slashing" style bite. The mention of specialized teeth appears to be real as well according to this site.
