    This snake is from BHB, you can search "Scaleless ball python" on youtube and find the couple episodes where the scaleless heads are shown

    I don't know if you're able to google pictures, but here's a scaleless head from http://pythonregius.com/
    You can see it closely in this picture... hahah

    As you can see, the scaleless parts are smooth and of a different texture... kind of like rubber or skin. The scales also kind of fade away into the scaleless parts. If you compare this look to your ball python, yours clearly still has scales covering his entire head- just odd and misshapen scales from maybe an injury, as previously stated.

    nice screen shot, this scaleless head looks a bit older. very interseting. the second picture is from Mike wilbanks and is a baby snake, noway to compare texture or scales position as they will evolute and superpose the missing ones .
