I hope not. Or if she does, I hope she's facing McCain or another moderate Republican, because there is no way she's going to win. Genetically modified pigs will fly first. Obama, on the other hand, looks promising so far but needs to build experience first. One Senate term is not enough.

Just curious, how does averyone feel about Mcain? I have friends who are extremes on both side of the fence, but last night we discovered that we would have all voted for him, regardless of party, if he had been on the ticket. How does averyone else feel?

I think in 2008 Hillary will be on the ticket but as VP not pres.
I think it will be a long while before we see a pres that is a women or a person of color.
To quote one of my fav Seinfield's " Not that there is anything wrong with it "
Just that after this election it seems the winds are starting to really blow to the right.

Even though McCain is a republican (I tend to vote democratic or libertarian), I think I would vote for him (as a senator...I dunno what I would do if he ran for Pres). I've seen some of the things he's written or voted against, and when I've seen his reasons, I have tended to agree with most of them. The last time I saw something major in the news that McCain had done, was that he wrote a letter supporting the memorial tv showing of the troops who had died in Iraq. (If you recall, this was a big thing in which the president of the corporation cancelled it entirely, I think this happened around July or so). This showing was supposed to be names and photos.
Just things like that.

I wanted to voted for Mcain, but again he did not get a nomination, since Bush was already a shoe in this time. Maybe next time. I would have voted him over either candidate. I actually think that Hillary not winning the presidency will have less to do with her being a woman, than with her being, well, her. Speaking from a woman's point of view. :)

I'd love to see a woman or a person of color or even a non-christian -- anything different, really -- in one of the top two seats, but the country isn't ready yet (unlike progressive countries like, say, India, Pakistan, the UK), and it certainly won't be Hillary when it does happen. I think if Andy Young hadn't screwed up as Atlanta's mayor, he could possibly have been the first VP of color one day.

Btw, if you hadn't heard the Obama vs Keys race was acutally the first senate race (possibly in all of congress) where both major party canidates were african american.
I say we pit Hilary versus Obama (several years from now) and see what the country does then :P

Of course I just realized that we can't do that, since they're both democrats. Ok, we find some really popular republican minority and pit it against somebody else who is a really popular democratic minority.
