No problem, I know how that goes. I thought I was going to have to pay for an electrician because I was having electrical issues in my new home which come to find out my house carries a two year warranty on electrical issues, and the lug coming into the box behind the meter was corroded and loose so it was arching. Glad I didn't have to pay for that as those people aren't cheap.

Just if you ever do build one, or you get somebody else to build one, you buy the parts. What most people don't tell you because they don't want you to know is that when they buy parts for you they tack on cost to each part to make more of a profit, so that $50-75 building fee profit turns into $250+ profit. So always buy your own parts, and when you call and ask the people, tell them you are going to order all the parts. You'll get some that say they won't build a computer unless they purchase the parts because of "quality" or "matching up" when it's total bull.

I have not seen the new Xbox product but I did get a Win8 machine (lappy) earlier this year and right out of the box Win8 is looking for an Xbox to network with. Media Center is gone, which is fine with me I invested in SageTV back in 2005.

That said my now 4 y/o hand built HTPC does anything I throw at it. I'm not a huge game person but I do like some NFS or Burnout series types and this old quad core with 8 gigs of DDR2 1066 plays those just fine. What it does great is record two TV shows at once while streaming a movie to an extender or other PC and playing music on itself and browsing BPnet because each media type gets its own hard drive and I keep it on the 5ghz wireless band.

Win 8 on a lap top is junk. I have a tablet, the Microsoft surface and it has win 8 an it's nice on that I actually like it a lot, the touch screen really makes a difference.

    Best 3 OS ever:
    Windows 7
    Windows XP
    Windows 98

    Worst 2 OS ever:
    Windows ME
    Windows Vista

    I don't like Windows 8, but it's better than 2k.

    I wouldn't want to use Win8 without a touchscreen.

You know how hard it was for me to find my computer with win8. That new start menu is rubbish.
