Re: Cats or dogs?
Dog person 100%. I love cats, but if I had to pick one or the other it's an absolute no-brainer...cats haven't brought pure, unadulterated joy into my life to the same extent that dogs have.

Cats or dogs?
Cats! Come on, dogs enjoy eating out of litter boxes. I think that pretty much sums it up.

Definitely a dog person!! I actually raise German Shephers from 100% German working bloodlines for competitive obedience, agility, and schutzhund. We do like cats, and in fact, my hubby used to be strictly a cat person until he met me and found out what owning a dog could really be like, but we only have 1 older cat now and I doubt we'll get more. The dogs and the reptiles take up enough of our time and attention. :gj:

Re: Cats or dogs?
Dogs suck. Period.
I can't stand barking, licking, dog farts, separation anxiety, any of it!!!
My cat is just right, for me.

They were going to be drowned when she elected to bring all nine of them home with her and that was that. Thus was born Mudgy Herding with Rufus tending to his flock, lol! Lost two of them for whatever reason but with bottle feeding every four hours the other seven pulled through and were adopted out once they had grown up a little and were weaned. He was quite proud of the job HE did raising them, lol!
Awwwww, that is AWESOME! What a sweet doggy :P Reilly gets too excited and will smother anything small, just trying to 'love' it. Good thing dachshunds are 'sturdy'.... lol

lol untrue! I have a small dog, and HAD a cat in the past.... I don't DISLIKE cats, but I'd prefer to not own one again. :) They definitely have their perk (low-maintenance) but I still like my high-maintenance dogs better ;)

Re: Cats or dogs?
I am smack dab in the middle, couldn't really pick one or other other. I currently have both, two of each, and there are times when they are both the greatest pets in the world, and other time they both annoy the hell out of me. Of course part of that may be because my cats have never been typical "cats" based on stereotypes, they've always been at least somewhat dog-like. My boy cat is VERY dog-like. He is my shadow too, follows me everywhere, and then tries to compete with the baby for lap space (even if that means laying ON TOP of the baby, good thing she's a year old and able to handle it! lol). He annoys the hell out of me, but at the same time he's great for a good cuddle when needed. The dogs are great too, but also annoying at times. I like them because I can take them with me, unlike the cats. Don't like them so much because they are more energetic and don't seem to be able to entertain themselves quite as easily at the cats. Both are great though.

Re: Cats or dogs?
Dogs are overrated, imo.
