I can't wait to meet everybody! Not too many of us frequent the Taylor MI show so I haven't actually met anyone from here yet. It'll be fun!

The VIP tickets really are for Tinley - not Repticon: Tinley Park VIP tickets. They get you into the show at 2pm on Friday, 2 1/2 hours early on Saturday, and 1 hour early on Sunday. And there is an ice breaker/press release reception from 4-6 before the summit meeting that you can be a part of with a VIP ticket.

I'm going to be looking for a pair of Angolan Pythons so I thought it might be worthwhile to do this.... ;)

That schedule is from the March Tinley which was a summit show. I don't think the October one is...

If I do pick up one or two, of course you can! I really like them. I'm hoping there'll be a few to choose from. They're pretty rare, so we'll see. :gj:

Ooops - you're right about the summit. So it's true I don't know about that reception from 4-6. But the VIP tickets are still available for the early hours, so I'll be looking at that. That was my primary reason for considering them anyhow, not the reception - boring... LoL! :P

They usually come with quite the price tag! I don't remember exactly the prices I have seen, but definitely a few grand...

So since we're on the subject, what is everyone else looking for at Tinley??

    My Tinley list:

    Pair of Angolans
female Argentine het T+ albino boa
    Irian Jaya Jag carpet python
    black tailed cribo
    female leachie gecko

I'll be taking a close look at the boas as well although I don't have anything specific in mind for them. I love sunglows so I'll be considering one of them carefully. But the Angolans are my primary focus. And I doubt I can get everthing on my list, but I'm gonna try to stick to the list and not stray too far from the beaten path, lol.... :D

Oh goodness no. Yes they are pricey, but prices have come down a bit thank heaven. I should be able to find a female for under 700 and a male for around 500 which puts it at about 1200 for a pair. If they are too expensive at Tinley, I'll have to wait til the following spring and maybe order one or two from Chad Duggin or Casey Lasik... Either way, no worries! ;)

Do they allow you to handle some reptiles at the show? If they don't, I don't think I have a reason for going haha.

Well I've been looking for a female ghost het caramel for a little bit now. Kind of a specific morph and hard to find. So I'll have my eye out for that.

I'm sure, as always, the hubby will try to talk me into another boa or a retic. And once again, I'll most likely say no...where the heck will we put it!? LOL

But mostly I just go to hang out with people and see all the cool stuff people have on display.

Also there's this awesome little seafood restaurant up the road from the convention center that the hubby and I discovered last Oct. So we plan to eat there probably on Friday night. ;)

Generally, if you strike up good conversation with a vendor, they will be happy to show you some of their stock. And there are usually several vendors that will show stuff for educational purposes. But DO use hand sanitizer and expect vendors to ask that you do before handling anything of theirs. And DON'T expect just anyone and everyone to let you handle their stock. Some vendors will only allow that if you're a serious buyer. But, yes, you should have the opportunity to put your hands on some pretty special critters. :gj:

I was messaging Brian from BHB back and forth for a little while, and he's going to be going if all turns well. I'm just mainly going there to talk to people, since I can't buy any animals. Anyone looking for any specific breeders to talk?

Also, if anyone is going there and willing to buy me a shirt, I'll gladly pay them back and some more :)
